Back in 2012 Ruth and I started Kids Giving Back. We felt strongly that we wanted to create opportunities to instil in young people and their family unit the beauty of giving to others, not just of material things but also of time through real life experiences.
When I heard about The Growth Project I was immediately interested and quick to apply.
Kids Giving Back had been around for two years then and we were very much a ‘Mum and Pop’ operation. We saw The Growth Project as an opportunity to access professional guidance that could help take Kids Giving Back to the next level. The timing could not have been better.
The Growth Project has been fantastic for us in lots of different ways.
We have been extremely lucky to have an excellent Business Leader in Anthony. He has been very hands-on; he meets with us every week, has helped us with pitches and is a valuable observer on our Board.
We are a young charity so everything presented at each of the different sessions has provided great learning for us.
There are also lots of opportunities outside of the actual sessions – such as invaluable networking with the other charities and business leaders.
You get out of the program what you put in – my advice to anyone lucky enough to participate is to immerse yourself. The rewards are great.

Our one-year Growth Program will equip you with the knowledge, skills and leadership qualities you need to take your organisation to the next level, at no cost to the charity.
